Four runners per team
Every runner runs a leg and then all four runners run the 5th leg together.
The time is taken on the 4th runner to cross the line after the 5th leg.
You’re only as strong as your weakest link!
The course is in keeping with the original at Black Rock, next to Brighton Marina. A course where you get the chance to cheer the runners as they pass by several times.

Mid Sussex Triathlon
A pool swim, countryside bike ride and flat run
Please familiarise yourself with the course details before the event.
Swim
The swim is held in the Triangle Leisure Centre's 25-metre, 8-lane pool. It is a 'zig-zag' swim: you'll swim two lengths, keeping to the left of the lane, then move on a lane until you run out of lanes (total 400m). It's worth practising diving under the rope on your turnaround - it's much quicker than stopping and ducking under the rope. When you've finished your swim, you can either exit the pool at the end of the lane or use the exit ladder.
Sprint & Aquabike (400m): You’ll start at the far end of the pool and complete 16 lengths in total.
Try-a-Tri (200m): You’ll start mid-way down the pool, completing 8 lengths in total.
The first swimmer will start at around 6.45am, with the slowest swimmers in the early waves. Competitors will enter the water in number order based on estimated swim times. Estimated times are never completely accurate, so overtaking is inevitable in the pool. Please read the Swim Etiquette notes for more info.
At the end of the swim, leave the pool and exit through the double doors to the transition area, WALKING and taking care as the floor may be slippery.
LEZYNE ARUNDEL LIDO TRIATHLON
The Lezyne Arundel Lido Triathlon is now in its 21st year. Arundel itself is steeped in history with its Castle and the River Arun running through the town. The heated Lido is iconic and nestles within the town under the shadow of the famous castle. Arundel is a popular tourist location and a great place to spend a weekend
There are two distances, Standard (750m/35km/8.4km) and Sprint (400m/19km/4.6km) with both having the option of an Aquabike category.
Run to the Sea Brighton
A multi-terrain route from Horsham to Brighton seafront, second to none for scenery and views. The 50km point-to-point course will take you through a mixture of terrain, including wonderful trails and rolling downs before reaching the seafront promenade.

Raw Energy Pursuits are proud to be organising a testing, fun and off-road charity 10km trail run at Findon Village during Grand National weekend. We’ll also be doing the new 5 mile course like we did last year (One less hill!). The location is second to none, based in the picturesque village of Findon, Race HQ will be on Nepcote Green. As in 2025, we’ll have our 2km Kids Run around Nepcote Green (3 Laps)
The Brighton Trail Marathon
Take on a 42km off-road challenge as you tackle the trails of the South Downs. You'll run through woodland walkways, chalky tracks, and farmland paths, not to mention a stint up Ditchling Beacon - the highest point on the South Downs. Towards the finish, runners will merge with the Brighton Marathon for the final push into Hove Lawns.
Thinking of Entering One of These?
If you’re signing up for an event, having some structure in your training can make the experience more enjoyable, and often more successful.
Whether you’re aiming to complete your first event or improve on a previous performance, preparation helps you:
Build strength specific to your event
Improve endurance and conditioning
Reduce injury risk
Feel confident going into race day
Balance training with work and life
Turning up feeling prepared is very different from just turning up.
If you’d like guidance or structured support in the lead-up, we’re always happy to help.
What It’s Like to Train Toward an Event
Many of the athletes we support train toward events throughout the year.
When preparing with structured coaching, you can expect:
✔ A programme tailored to your event and timeline
✔ Support around strength, endurance, and recovery
✔ Clear progression week to week
✔ Accountability leading into race day
✔ Encouragement and guidance before and after the event
Some people prefer to train independently, others value having a clear plan and support behind them.
If you’d like to explore what that might look like for you, get in touch.
Coached FITT is not affiliated with or responsible for organising these events. Event details and registrations are managed by the official organisers.
